Where it started
I grew up on the small island of Oahu, Hawai'i and struggled with severe asthma, anxiety, and allergies all throughout my childhood. I spent a lot of time worrying about my health and depended on several medications at a very young age.
As I got older, I learned about all of the other ways that people took care of their health and I became fascinated with natural medicine, so much so that I decided to shadow a naturopathic doctor practicing in Honolulu.
I got to see how much time and care went into each patient’s visit and how each treatment plan was customized to the patient’s unique needs: blending the best of both conventional and natural therapies.
From that day on, I was hooked and decided to become a Naturopathic Doctor.
Training
I left Hawai'i to follow my dreams and went on to receive my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington, where I was trained in primary care medicine.
During my medical education, I received extra specialized training in rheumatology and autoimmune conditions, allergic and infectious diseases, as well as support for patients undergoing cancer treatment.
I went on to complete a year of residency through the Institute for Natural Medicine at a group practice in Redmond, WA before becoming a proud co-owner and primary care physician at Junction Naturopathic Medicine in West Seattle.
As of December 2023, I am once again pursuing my dreams of launching a solo practice and paying homage to my family name.
